People-Based Learning: The Story Portal
My latest book, People-Based Learning: The Future of Learning Is Human, was made possible in part through a collaboration with Cortico, a nonprofit that works closely with the MIT Center for Constructive Communication. Their work brings underheard voices into the conversation, helping people listen across differences and connect through stories.
As a social science researcher, I have always been drawn to work that keeps the people behind the data in view. Together with Cortico, I created a conversation portal that extends the book, offering ways to explore the human contributions that helped shape People-Based Learning.
Join us for a guided introduction to the portal. We’ll share how it was built and demonstrate how to navigate its conversations, explore data visualizations, surface commonalities across experiences, and ask questions of the collected conversations. We’ll also walk through possible uses, considering how the portal can support inquiry and deepen engagement with the ideas in the book.
There will be time for your questions, insights, and impressions throughout. Whether you’re curious about People-Based Learning, working with conversation-based research, or exploring ways to make collective wisdom more accessible, I’d love to have you join us.
