​This isn’t a networking event, and it’s not about talking shop. It’s a chance to step away from work, read something good, and spend time with like-minded people in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

​There’s no agenda beyond enjoying the story and meeting good people.

​Everyone is welcome to order food or drinks if they wish, but there’s no expectation - just come as you are.

​If it sounds like your kind of thing, you’re very welcome.

​What to expect on the night

​Arrivals from 6pm - grab a drink, settle in, and meet a few new faces before we get started.

​From 6:30pm, we’ll kick things off with a short, guided chat about the book.

​We’ll then move into a pub quiz in teams. A mix of book questions (kept easy), general fiction, and a few wildcard rounds. There will be prizes - think more fun than fancy.

​After that, we’ll have a quick-fire round of pitches for the next book. Anyone can throw one into the mix (two minutes max), and we’ll vote on what we’re reading next.

​We’ll wrap the structured part of the evening around 8pm, but you’re very welcome to stay on, have another drink, and chat.
