Rule Breakers - Premiere @ ETH Zürich
Join us for an exclusive screening of Rule Breakers at ETH Zürich, followed by a live panel discussion with Academy Award–winning director Bill Guttentag, lead actress Amber Afzali, Women is Robotics board member Nazrin Aliyeva and ETH professor Raffaello D'Andrea.
Rule Breakers is a dramatic feature film inspired by the true story of the Afghan all-girls robotics team: young women who defied cultural, political, and logistical barriers to teach themselves coding and robotics, and who went on to represent their country in international robotics competitions. Their journey is one of resilience, ingenuity, and the transformative power of education and technology.
Following the screening, a moderated panel discussion will explore the making of the film, the real-world story that inspired it, and the broader themes of innovation, and the role of technology in creating opportunity. The discussion will conclude with a Q&A, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with the guests.
We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of film, dialogue, and inspiration at ETH Zürich.
