From Lab to Market: How Corporate Partnerships Accelerate Tough Tech
Breakthrough technologies need more than capital to reach commercial scale. They need partners who can open doors to pilots, infrastructure, customers, and deployment.
Join Shell Boston and The Engine at Shell TechWorks for a discussion about how strategic capital and corporate partnerships help Tough Tech companies move from research breakthroughs to commercial deployment and real-world impact.
The program opens with remarks from Shell Boston and The Engine on why strategic partnerships matter for the Tough Tech ecosystem. The Engine then moderates a conversation with members of the Shell Ventures team and the Shell GameChanger program, alongside founders of Tough Tech startups they are actively working with. Panelists will share what makes a corporate investment or partnership come together, what corporate partners look for at each stage of growth, and how lessons from later-stage partnerships can shape early-stage R&D through programs like Shell GameChanger and Ignition Pass.
Shell and The Engine will also launch the next Ignition Pass application cycle, with a brief overview of the program and how startups can apply.
We'll close with a networking reception for founders, investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners. Starting at 4:30 PM, guests can also join an optional guided tour of Shell Boston's office.
Attendees will gain practical insights into what corporate partners like Shell look for, how startups can prepare for strategic engagement, and how relationships can evolve from early-stage R&D through commercial deployment.
