About Event

In this meeting we will come together to acknowledge the heaviness we each carry when we face the unraveling of our world.

So many of us, myself included, feel we must hold everything—the grief, the fear, the responsibility, the hope—on our own. But human beings were never meant to carry everything by ourselves. Each of us is made to carry only a small, meaningful part, woven into a much larger web of people, places, histories, and beings who hold the rest.

We will gather to name our burdens, hold them together and gently, with care, find ways to lay them down. In subsequent meetings, my hope is that we work to sort through these burdens and discover individually what is actually ours to hold, and what we can release into the larger systems, communities, ancestors, and forces that were made for heavier weights than human shoulders.

Engaging in this work together we might start to see and map how we all come to hold these burdens together. Recognizing that we can trust those around us to identify and do the work that we cannot.
