About Event
Learn how to use our sewing machines and execute some basic stitches! This class will familiarize you with the equipment available in the sewing area at FatCat, teach you the correct (and safe) way to use it, and give you some hands-on practice sewing.
We will focus on sewing with domestic sewing machines, but we will discuss the function and operation of the serger/overlock machine and the heavy-duty machine, as well.
The class will cover some commonly used sewing terms and an overview of machine sewing. There will be a demonstration of how to thread sewing machines and bobbins, and you will learn some common stitches and their uses. We will also discuss how to troubleshoot some common machine issues.
