Off Script: Making the Ladder Work For You
What does it actually take to grow in corporate—and how do you decide what growth should look like for you?
For Chapter Two of herScript’s The Next Chapter series, we’re opening up the conversations that often stay outside the meeting room: the questions you’re hesitant to ask, the career moves that don’t follow a predictable path, and the tradeoffs behind choosing your direction.
Join Ademusoyo Awosika-Olumo, Senior Software Engineer at Salesforce, and Ashleigh Johnson, Senior Marketing Technologist at Microsoft, for a candid virtual panel about finding your footing and making the corporate ladder work for your goals.
We’ll explore:
The unspoken side of corporate life: What people wish they had known earlier.
The questions you’re nervous to ask: An opportunity to bring your questions into the conversation.
The unexpected turns: Unconventional decisions and defining moments that shaped our speakers’ careers.
Generalist vs. specialist: The benefits, limitations, and possibilities of each path.
Whether you’re preparing for your first corporate role or thinking about your next move, come ready to hear honest perspectives, ask thoughtful questions, and reconsider what success can look like for you.
