Your First Hour with AI
Set up your account and get comfortable with AI tools. We'll use Claude in this session, and most other tools, including ChatGPT, work the same way, so what you learn carries over.
We'll start from the first login and cover how chats and projects work before you write a single prompt. From there you'll write prompts, check what comes back, and watch how AI handles tasks that run on their own.
A paid plan helps if you want to follow along during the second half, but it isn't necessary, since we'll share our screen for that part.
What you'll walk away with
You will have a working account, a project set up for your recurring work, and a clear sense of when to start a new chat.
You will know how to write a prompt that gets a useful answer on the first try and how to check what comes back.
You will see how an assistant can take on a task and run it on a schedule while you are doing something else.
This session is built for accountants and finance professionals who are new to AI or have only tried it a few times. No prior experience is needed.
Please create your account before the session so we can get started right away. Depending on how many people join, we may use breakout rooms so everyone gets attention.
There's a part two
This is the first of two sessions. Part two goes deeper into the same tools and runs partly as open office hours, so bring whatever comes up once you start using this on real work. Questions we don't get to on Oct 20 can be answered on Oct 27 during our "Your second hour with AI" session
