Founders Lab 1:1 Session with David Moore

About the Event

Join us for Venture Dock’s 1:1 session series connecting founders and builders with people who have built, invested, operated, and led at a high level.

About David Moore

David Moore has spent more than 15 years designing products where getting it wrong has real consequences: surgical robots, medical devices, and digital health programs used by millions. He started as an industrial designer at SRI International, working on surgical robotics from first concept through to functioning systems, and later became lead designer on Verb Surgical’s robotic platform (the Verily and Johnson & Johnson venture). That work had him gathering input from 24 surgeons across five continents and contributing to ten Google patents.

He went on to co-found Zero Nine Design, where his teams took on product and go-to-market work for Google Life Sciences, Philips Medical, Easton Sports, and Specialized Bicycles. In between, he was Principal Designer at Hinge Health, shaping the customer experience for its digital MSK program as the company scaled through its B2B2C channel. Today he’s Director of Design & Strategy at Zero Nine, and he’s been a guest instructor at Stanford since 2011, teaching visualization and design thinking in the School of Engineering.

Book a 1:1 session with David to work through:

  • Turning a fuzzy product vision into a roadmap your team can actually execute

  • How to run user research on a startup budget, and what to do when customers contradict each other

  • Positioning a product so buyers understand it in the first conversation

  • Designing for regulated or high-stakes markets like healthcare and medtech

  • Getting engineering, design, and the business side pulling in the same direction as you grow

You don’t need to be building a physical product or a health company to get value here. If you’re stuck on what to build next, how to explain what you’ve built, or why your team keeps talking past each other, David has been in that room many times, often as the person brought in to untangle it.

Each Founders Lab session is limited and Member-only. Spots go fast, so please RSVP only if you can attend and arrive on time.

What is Venture Dock

Venture Dock is a founder-first community and fund based in Palo Alto, with a second location in Milpitas. We bring founders together every week for working sessions, expert programming like Founders Labs and Build From The Dock, and direct access to operators and venture partners who’ve done this before.
