1st Manchester Meetup – Can AI Really Write Useful UAT Test Cases? A BBC Experiment
After building a presence across Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Porto, The Test Tribe’s QA community is now coming to Manchester.
AI can generate hundreds of test cases in minutes.
The harder question is whether those test cases are actually useful.
At The Test Tribe’s 1st Manchester Meetup, Bill Watson will share a BBC experiment that looked at how AI-generated UAT test cases perform when judged against real testing needs.
The focus is not on how much AI can produce, but on how to measure whether that output has genuine value.
Session
Can AI Really Write Useful UAT Test Cases? A BBC Experiment
Speaker: Bill Watson, Enterprise IT Acceptance Test Manager at the BBC
Using a live BBC project as a case study, Bill will explore how AI-generated UAT test cases can be evaluated alongside human-generated ones.
The session will cover how to define meaningful success metrics, reduce bias during evaluation, and judge quality based on usefulness rather than output volume.
It will also look at the strengths and limitations observed during the experiment, and how the same approach can be turned into a repeatable Proof of Value model for evaluating AI testing tools in other organisations.
