TDD Glasgow - Lean Coffee ☕
Description
The month we're running a Lean Coffee (https://agilecoffee.com/leancoffee/), a structured but agenda-less meeting where the participants democratically build the agenda in real-time.
Doors open: 6:00pm
Event starts: 6:30pm
How it works:
Write your topic: We’ll start by getting everyone to write down the topics they wish to discuss on post-it notes. They can be anything you like as long as they are best practice related.
Vote: We then vote. Everyone gets three votes and you vote for the topics you wish to discuss.
Focused Discussion: We start with the highest voted topics and discuss for 8 minutes. When the times is up we thumb vote. 👍to continue for another 5 minutes, 👎 to move on to the next highest voted topic.
Why attend?
You control the agenda: Lean Coffee allows everyone to propose topics and vote on which ones to discuss. This ensures the conversation is relevant to the whole group
No preparation: you don't need to be an expert or a speaker to attend. You just show up with your questions or challenges and join the conversation.
Neutralizes "Loud" Voices: Because topics are chosen by vote and discussions are time-boxed, it's hard for one or two people to dominate the event.
Introvert-Friendly: Silent topic generation and voting allow everyone to contribute their ideas without the pressure of speaking up in a large crowd first.
Who is the Event Aimed at?
This event is aimed at developers with at least 1+ years experience in industry.
That's just a rough guide and still feel free to come as along if you think you would find the event useful. As long you have a basic development skill and are interested in best practices it should be fine. We have a number of students who attend our events.
Is The Event Accessible?
Unfortunately there several steep stairs down to access the venue. We are currently look at moving to a fully accessible venue for future events.
