NO RSVP NEEDED — MEMBER DROP-IN EVENT

Join us at Sansaar Books for a private member screening of Ephraim Asili’s 2020 debut feature, The Inheritance.

When Julian inherits his grandmother’s house in West Philadelphia, he turns it into a collective for young Black artists and activists, who study, argue over books and records, and try to figure out how to live together. Asili based it partly on his own time in a Black liberationist group, and he weaves in real footage and interviews about MOVE and the 1985 police bombing of their home. It was a New York Times Critic’s Pick and has since been restored by the Criterion Collection.
