Wastewater metagenomics reading + Q&A with Simon Grimm
On January 15th, we'll explore wastewater metagenomic sequencing from 1) technical and 2) conceptual angles:
1) Inferring the sensitivity of wastewater metagenomic sequencing for early detection of viruses: a statistical modelling study
2) Scaling US pathogen detection — NAO, on the role of wastewater in a broader detection system
We'll recap the key points at the start, so familiarity with the content is encouraged but not required.
At 19:00 Simon Grimm, a lead author of both publications, will join us online for 30 min Q&A. Come with any questions you'd like to ask!
Afterwards, we'll have time for an open-ended discussion and socializing over snacks.
Join us starting from 18:00-18:15
