About Event

β€‹πŸŽ‰ Welcome to the 2nd public Movie Screening & Discussion hosted by the EU Climate Pact Belgium and the Impact Hub in Brussels!

Following the success of our first screening in December 2025, we are excited to invite you to our next event, featuring the documentary Duty of Care: The Climate Trials (2022).

About the Movie

A true-crime documentary about courts, climate change, and the unknown lawyer(s) who might just save the world. Duty of Care tells the exclusive, inside story of Roger Cox, the first lawyer to successfully sue a government and an oil giant in landmark court cases that established catastrophic climate change can be made illegal. Watch the trailer here. (Note: The movie will be screened in English with English subtitles.)

About the Speakers

Following the 56-minute screening, we will host a discussion moderated by an πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ EU Climate Pact Ambassador. The disucssion will feature:

Nic Balthazar is a playwright, director, and filmmaker. He is the author of award-winning feature films such as Ben X, Tot Altijd, and Everybody Happy. He is a co-founder and a driving force behind Klimaatzaak - a citizen-led movement that sued the Belgian government for negligent climate policy.

Fien Criel is a political scientist and a grassroot organizer within the Belgian climate movement. Currently, she is the Mobilization Coordinator for the Klimaatcoalitie (Climate Coalition), an alliance of nearly 100 member organizations, where she works to unite citizens, NGOs, and civil society to keep climate justice on the political agenda.
