​Born and raised in Italy, Riccardo Atanasio earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance summa cum laude from the Conservatorio di Musica di Vicenza “Arrigo Pedrollo” under Maestro Marco Tezza.

​In this special event, be transported to Keith Jarrett's legendary Köln Concert as Riccardo Atanasio performs his meticulous transcription of the iconic 1975 improvisation. Sit back and enjoy the summer light streaming through the stained glass, as you experience this landmark piece in Glasgow's oldest building.

​Recorded live, the original Köln Concert became the best-selling solo piano album in history, despite Jarrett nearly canceling the show due to exhaustion and a failing instrument. The performance is celebrated as a pinnacle of spontaneous composition, with four entirely improvised movements that blur the lines between jazz, gospel and classical music.

​Doors open 7:30pm and the performance will last around 80 minutes. We suggest a £10 donation; all proceeds are shared between the artist and our organ restoration project.
