Sunrise Trek Alert: Kaiwara Betta ⛰️
Heyya!
For our next adventure, we are chasing the sunrise! We’re heading to Kaiwara Betta on Sunday, Feb 15th to catch the first light over the mythological hill of Bheema & Bakasura.
Why Kaiwara for Sunrise?
The rocky terrain glows golden in the morning light, and since it’s Maha Shivaratri, the energy at the hilltop temple will be incredible.
The Plan (Early Risers Edition):
📅 Date: Sunday, Feb 15
⏰ Departure: 3:30 AM (Strict timing!)
📍 Location: Kaiwara (approx. 70km from BLR)
💪 Difficulty: Moderate (Steep stairs & rocky patches)
💰 Cost & Style:
• Non-Commercial: This is a community trek, not a paid event!
• On Actuals: We will split fuel and food costs equally among everyone. No hidden fees, just pure trekking.
Itinerary:
• 03:30 AM: Start from Bangalore (Carpool points TBD)
• 05:30 AM: Reach Base & Start Trek
• 06:45 AM: Summit & Sunrise ☀️
• 08:00 AM: Explore the caves & descend
• 09:30 AM: Breakfast at a local spot (Thatte Idli anyone?)
• 12:00 PM: Back in Bangalore for a nap!
🎒 Essentials:
• Torch/Headlamp (Must for the dark start!)
• Jacket/Sweater (It will be cold before sunrise)
• Good shoes (Rocky terrain)
• Water & Snacks
