Out in AI Member Showcase: Create an AI Assistant with Ben Gibson

​ChatGPT can write your emails. It can draft your marketing. But can it act as you, in a version of you that you actually trust to represent you? That's the question Ben Gibson has been living with for the past year, and it's the one he's bringing to this month's Out in AI Showcase.

​Ben's path here wasn't a straight line from a computer science degree. He grew up in a small West Texas town, served in the Marine Corps during Don't Ask Don't Tell, spent a decade building marketing and sales for early-stage minority creatives out of Austin, and came through a serious mental health crisis that reshaped what he wanted to build next. Today he's working inside Seattle's Steamworks, using AI to run their marketing and sales, and he's building toward something bigger: an agency that helps queer men use AI without losing themselves in it.

​In this session, Ben walks through how he's building his own "AI self" in ChatGPT: an assistant handling his email and marketing that operates like an extension of him, not a generic bot wearing his name. Expect a live build, not just slides. Bring your own ChatGPT and follow along, or just watch and steal the framework.
