About Event

This is the very first Guest Creative appearance at The Hummingbird Nest. Sessions will be a regular, once-a-month offering in The Creativity Studio inside The Hummingbird Nest membership, launching soon.

These sessions are for making. For the woman who is craving creativity, forgot she was creative at all, or simply wants to bring a little joy to her day.

This first session is a gift to everyone.

We'll start with a short arrival practice to help you settle in. Then I'll share a little about the symbolism of the hummingbird. With Chris Vabre, Octopus Connection, as our guide, we'll paint the bird that gives this place its name.

What to bring:
1. Watercolor paints. Chris will be using mostly pink and aqua, with some brown or gray as well.

2. Watercolor paper. Chris will be using her 5 x 7 sketchbook. This is completely optional. Very small sizes might be hard for beginners. Preferably 140 pound/300 g.

3. A medium round watercolor brush. This usually equates to about three-quarter-inch bristles.

4. Pencil eraser for sketching. A polymer eraser or kneaded eraser (best as it doesn’t leave marks on the paper)

5. One or two cups or jars for water rinsing.

6. Paper towels or rags to wipe the brush with.
