About Event

Science fiction has long imagined humanity’s path beyond Earth, from post-scarcity utopias to contested frontiers to desperate exoduses. Which way are we headed?

This week's interactive community conversation tests those visions against the technological, economic, societal, and cultural forces shaping our spacefaring future right now. Because the future isn’t something we predict but something we choose, the question isn’t just where we’re headed, but where we dare to go.

OUR FACILITATOR
Vince Lucich, an engineer and startup founder whose work involves building spacecraft for the emerging orbital economy, will lead us on this idea exploration of the future.

WHO'S IT FOR?
Idea people. Founders. Builders. Creatives. Researchers. The Curious. And their Supporters

--------------
FORMAT
Our format explores ideas together through our diverse backgrounds, while building relationships and community through the process. We want you to talk to each other, instead of just being talked at.

6:00PM - Settle in, grab a drink and some food at the bar, and meet some new people before we start our event.

6:30PM - Our conversation begins with our facilitator presenting the knowledge and context for the conversation along the way. The conversation between attendees will explore from surface level understandings, to deep implications and future iterations.

7:45PM - Meet and connect with new people, catch up with people you haven't seen in a while, discover all the different ways you overlap. And then just hang out, grab a drink, play some pool or ping pong! Or stay for the band afterwards!

Our desire is to be the antithesis of NYC's corporate panel and transactional networking culture. We aim to create a vibrant idea and build space in NYC that focuses on the passion and values beyond the money and the hustle.

ABOUT COHORT
Cohort is a space and home for ideas, and the people who think about them, create new ones, and build things from them. Many of us are founders, builders, artists, researchers, and their supporters here in NYC.

Our goal is to turn the city into a campus after college.

We hold idea and discussion events, coworking events for support and accountability for those building and creating things, and pure social events to build genuine relationships and community.

Subscribe, browse our calendar, and join us for our next events!

📸 Photography Notice

We may take photos and video at our events to share on social media and our website. We use it to spread the word and help more people find this community. By attending, you're giving us permission to use those photos and videos in anything related to Cohort's promotion and outreach. If you'd rather not be photographed, just let us know when you arrive and we'll make sure you're not included.
