About Event

On International Women’s Day, join us for a calm and thoughtful morning exploring how Traditional Chinese Medicine understands women’s cycles — and how food and tea have traditionally been used to accompany the body through its natural rhythms.

In TCM, women are seen as inherently cyclical. Energy rises and falls. Warmth and coolness shift. Yin and yang transform over the course of the month. Rather than treating every day the same, traditional food wisdom encourages subtle adjustments: warming during menstruation, nourishing after, soothing before.

This gathering is a cultural and educational introduction to traditional perspectives — not a medical workshop.

We will explore:

  • How TCM views the menstrual cycle as a rhythm of yin–yang transformation

  • Common phase-based shifts many women notice in their bodies

  • How food and tea have historically been selected in response to those changes

We will share a live cooking demonstration and prepare a gentle spleen-supporting herbal tea. Participants will also be introduced to several traditional food–medicine ingredients commonly used in Chinese kitchens — learning how they look, smell, and are typically prepared in everyday life.

Expect a small-group setting with space for reflection and conversation.

You’ll leave with:

  • A new way of thinking about cyclical rhythm

  • A deeper understanding of traditional food wisdom

  • Practical ideas you can explore at home

* This session shares traditional cultural knowledge for educational purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Participants should consult qualified healthcare professionals for personal medical concerns.

No prior knowledge required. All are welcome.
