Build & Grow: Start Here (In Person)
Bring one thing you're building, offering, or exploring. Leave with your current constraint named and one small experiment to run this week.
Free. 90 minutes. For anyone with a business, a side business, or an idea they're serious about. No stage requirement: people who haven't earned a dollar yet and people running a business for ten years work the same method, on their own thing.
This isn't a lecture or an info session. You'll spend most of the 90 minutes working on your own business, next to people doing the same:
Write down what has actually happened so far, separate from what you plan
Run a six-question check-in that finds the one thing in your way
Name your constraint in one sentence, and say whether it's evidence or a guess
Design an experiment small enough to run this week: under fifty dollars, done by Wednesday, produces a number
Trade one ask and one offer with the room
You leave with a one-page Venture Starting Point, filled in, in your own words. It's yours whether or not you ever sign up for anything else.
In the last 15 minutes you'll hear about Build & Grow Studio, an eight-week version of this session for people who want to keep going, and you'll be asked what you'd need to make it work.
What to bring: one thing you're working on, and whatever evidence you have about it: numbers, customer conversations, sales, sign-ups. If you have nothing yet, that's an answer too. Bring a pen.
Parking: no parking on campus due to construction. Street parking is available outside campus; allow 10 extra minutes. The Q17, Q25, Q34, and Q64 buses stop at the campus. Enter at the Kissena Blvd gate; the Tech Incubator is in CEP Hall #2. Light snacks.
