FuseSpark Meet-up #2
Welcome to FuseSpark, a community event series designed as a vital part of the FuseCon ecosystem. FuseSpark is our spark- a dedicated space where ideas collide and multiply to shape the future of tech leadership.
Session 1: Building for the Skeptic: Designing UX for users who don’t trust the tech yet
Speaker: Stephen Cox from SEEK
This talk looks at what really happens when we drop AI into high-stakes decisions and the humans on the other side just don’t trust it yet. We’ll explore why that skepticism is often reasonable, how people instinctively react to AI almost like another person in the room, and what it takes to design experiences that feel genuinely competent, consistent and on their side.
Session 2: Fireside chat - Building Trust in an AI world
Panelist Kelfred Hor, Wilson Kok and moderate by Ren Chang
The conversation around 'Trust' is being reframed. It is no longer treated as a vague feeling, but as a core technical and design specification.
The session breaks down the accountability across the board:
For Engineers: Trust is a product of reliability and performance.
For Designers: It is anchored in transparency and clarity.
For Product Managers: It is built through consistency and value.
The danger, they argue, lies in the 'Trust Gap'- that friction point where a product is technically accurate but 'creepy,' or visually polished but logically flawed. When these roles are misaligned, the team incurs 'Trust Debt.' Unlike technical debt, this is a deficit that is far harder to recover from. Today’s discussion is a tactical look at how we build, maintain, and repair that trust in a world dominated by AI.
