About Event

a film by Béla Tarr
projecting's end-of-season screening
1994, 439 min

We couldn’t think of a better way to say goodbye to our summer pop-up at Projecting than with a cinematic challenge. This sprawling yet sparse masterpiece of slow cinema is a film we’ve only ever experienced in fragments, alone at home. If we were going to watch it in its entirety, we wanted to do it alongside a room full of like-minded people.

To make the experience as enjoyable as possible, we’ll be observing the film’s two built-in intermissions. We also encourage you to bring anything that will help you stay comfortable throughout the screening.

Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome, provided everyone is mindful of those around them and cleans up after themselves. As always, Projecting is a sober space, so alcohol is not permitted.

We’re thrilled to share this singular cinematic experience together and celebrate the close of our summer season!
