There's a version of product management where you can take an idea from your head to a working, deployed product without waiting on an engineering sprint. That's not a hypothetical anymore.
OpenAI's Codex has made it possible for PMs to go from a rough idea to something real, testable, and shareable, without writing code from scratch. But the bottleneck was never really the code. It's knowing how to think through the build, translate product thinking into instructions a model can act on, and make the right calls when things get messy in the middle.
That's what this session covers.
What you'll learn
By the end of this session, you'll have gone through the full build cycle:
Defining your product idea clearly enough that a model can work with it, including mapping the user flow before writing a single prompt.
Translating that idea into build instructions that actually produce useful output. There's a specific way to frame what you want, and most first attempts miss it.
Using Codex to scaffold, review, and iterate on the solution as it develops, treating it like a technical collaborator rather than a search engine.
Making product judgement calls mid-build, deciding what to cut, what to simplify, and what matters for an MVP versus what can wait.
Testing, refining, and getting your working version deployed somewhere real.
This isn't a session about learning to code. It's about what happens when PMs stop waiting for engineering bandwidth to validate an idea and start doing more of the exploratory build work themselves.
