The Task

Build a system that interacts with humans in 48 hours.

Examples for inspiration:

  • robot that uses body movement as input (hand, face, eyes, etc)

  • robot that extends human ability (golf aimbot, telepathy/jedi force)

  • robot on the human body (hait cutter, feeder, tooth brusher, eyes on back)

  • inter-human communication device (secret morse coder, bone conducting speaker)

  • interactive physical game (sword fighter, ping pong server, finger-wrestler)

Parts

We will provide you with:

  • ESP-s,

  • Servos (SG90),

  • 5V motors & controllers,

  • Power supplies,

  • LEDs, buttons, cables, breadboards, etc.

Every team will have access to Formlabs SLA printers.

Everything else you may need, you should bring. (sensors, RPIs, stepper/bldc motors & controllers, batteries, wheels, bearings, etc.)

Teams

Teams should have 3-5 members! Singles will be given opportunities to team up at the start of the event.

Rules

1) Don't work on the task before we start! You can ideate and buy components, but it is forbidden to start building or to bring half-cooked projects. It isn't recommended to be hard-set on a problem either.

2) You can buy and bring parts from outside! Don't bring completed robots (robot arm, dog, drone, etc.)

Sleep / stay / food

The nights of the hackathon (during the 48 hours), intense students can sleep in the office (bring a sleeping bag if you plan to).

Accommodation isn't available for the night before, but reach out to us via email ([email protected]) if this is what's stopping you (we can help find a solution)!

Sufficient amount of pizza will be provided for dinner.

All else

Feel free to ask any questions! Email us at: [email protected]
