Traditional Excel has many limitations in the data analysis space, which is why many organisations are now turning to tools like Power BI.

What most Excel users don’t know is that we have a lot of the Power BI functionality embedded in Excel! For those users looking to move to Power BI in the future or just wanting to achieve the same analysis capabilities without the need to share on a large scale this is the course for you.

We start by using Power Query to automate the process of collecting and cleaning data from different sources. We see how we can connect and compare huge data sets using append and merge queries. We then build a related data model in memory and analyse the data model using pivots and DAX calculations.

  • Use Power Query to fetch Data from Different Sources

  • Use Power Query to Transform and Clean Data

  • Append and Merge Queries

  • Creating a Data Model in Excel

  • Creating a Calendar Table

  • Creating Pivots from Linked Tables

  • Power Pivot Features

  • Introduction to DAX (if time)

  • Power Pivot Visualisation Options
