Join South Asians in Sports for an unforgettable experience in partnership with the Raptors 905 and MLSE! We’re excited to offer an exclusive, discounted block of tickets for SAIS members to watch the Raptors 905 take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario on Friday, March 6th.
Tip-off is at 7:30 PM, but the experience starts much earlier. Beginning at 5:30 PM, attendees will be invited to a special panel discussion featuring South Asians in basketball, followed by the opportunity to watch shootaround up close. After the game, the night continues with post-game, on-court access - including photos on the court and a chance to shoot some hoops yourself.
This is the perfect time to catch the Raptors 905 in action. The team is having an incredible season and currently holds the #1 spot in the Eastern Conference of the NBA G League, making this a can’t-miss matchup and a unique behind-the-scenes experience.
Tickets are $25 to attend, or $15 for Premium SAIS members. Space is limited to 50 tickets, so be sure to secure your spot early.
About Our Panelists
Maheen Ali, Specialist, Business & Team Operations at Raptors 905, graduated from Sheridan College in 2020 with a major in Business Administration. She has worked at Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment (MLSE) for 8 years turning a part-time hourly position into full-time roles across various departments including Retail, People & Inclusion, Digital Labs/Esports, and now a Front Office role with the Raptors 905 as their Specialist of Business & Team Operations.
Kishan Mistry, Manager, Content Marketing at Toronto Tempo, is a Toronto-based creative specializing in photography, graphic design and social media management. After graduating from TMU's Sport Media program in 2018, Kishan has had stops at TSN/BarDown, Yahoo Sports Canada MLB, NHL & UNINTERRUPTED Canada before arriving at the Toronto Tempo serving as Manager of Content Marketing. Alongside his industry experience, Kishan is also a well-established photographer in Toronto in the sports and music scene, and is an ambassador for Canon Canada.
Ansh Sanyal, VP, Brand & Marketing at CEBL, is a brand and marketing leader known for building culturally relevant sports and entertainment properties through storytelling, content, and partnership-led growth. As VP of Brand & Marketing at the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), Canada's professional basketball league, he leads national brand strategy, fan growth, engagement, and league-wide marketing initiatives. His work focuses on positioning the league as a cultural basketball movement, blending sport, community, and entertainment to deepen fan connection and commercial impact.
Zahra Bruce is a Senior Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with the Toronto Raptors. She is well-educated, with over 20 years of experience and began providing massage therapy services for the Raptors in 2017 and was part of the auxiliary medical staff during the 2019 Championship run. Zahra remains an integral member of the interdisciplinary medical department supporting athlete performance and recovery. Specializing in sport and rehabilitation therapy, Zahra is passionate about improving quality of life through care, education, and optimal health outcomes. In 2020, Zahra co-founded Open Dialogue Canada, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving healthcare experiences for BIPOC communities.
Sam Bhachu works for the Toronto Raptors in Player Relations & Talent Strategy, managing the team’s full talent portfolio including players, coaches, alumni, and broadcast personalities — connecting them with marketing, sponsorship, and community initiatives through appearances and partnerships. Outside of the Raptors, Sam serves as the General Manager of Brown Ballers, a professional basketball team made up of the top Indian-origin players from around the world, competing annually in the TBT broadcasted on ESPN. He is passionately dedicated to creating opportunities for South-Asian players to develop and advance their careers.
