Workshop #6 - Sensor systems
Workshop #6
Special session this Sunday
This time we’re shifting focus.
We’re hosting a guest workshop led by Dmytro Sielin — Director of Drone Spices Ltd and developer of custom drone detection systems, including the “Tsukorok” platform and other solutions.
Topic
Field sensor systems built from modular, accessible components.
We’ll be discussing and experimenting with how to assemble practical sensor and detection setups around a central controlling unit (like “Tsukorok” or similar with simple MCU and radio), integrating:
acoustic (sound) sensors
cameras
seismic sensors
short-range radars (e.g. ~10m human detection modules)
and other lightweight, modular inputs
Dmytro will share practical experience from building working systems end-to-end, from hardware integration to software and field deployment. The workshop will include active experimentation with both hardware and software, with Dmytro facilitating and helping participants test different approaches. By the end of the session, participants should have assembled a basic modular setup capable of supporting various additional sensors, such as acoustic and seismic sensors, together with a basic end-to-end solution linking field sensor nodes, connectivity, and a dashboard in the control centre.
Who should join
Anyone interested in:
drone detection (or human detection)
field sensor systems
hardware prototyping
connectivity & mesh networking
unconventional / low-cost engineering approaches
Recommended to bring
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with a suitable coding environment already installed, USB Type-C cables, and any Arduino-compatible controllers, sensors, modules, or other electronic parts they would like to experiment with. Bringing your own hardware is optional, but it will make the workshop more hands-on and allow more opportunities for practical integration and testing.
Important
Yes — this is happening on Sunday.
We know it’s not ideal, but it’s the only slot that works this time.
Invitation
Open invite — feel free to share this with anyone who might find it useful. The more diverse the group, the better the outcome.
See you there.
