​This workshop is designed for people who want to understand how early-stage investors actually think:

​• How do professional early-stage investors evaluate founders and startups?

​• How can investors assess risk when data is limited and what’s a practical diligence checklist for first-time angels?

​• How can non-professional investors start angel investing responsibly?

​During this workshop, you will be presented with an honest conversation on how early-stage investing really works, and how we can thoughtfully step into the game. It will offer real frameworks, lived experience, and honest conversations from inside the venture world.

​Michelle Wang is an early-stage investor, connector, and builder with nearly a decade of hands-on venture experience. She is passionate about partnering with founders around the world to create high-impact companies and bridge industries and markets for growth.

​At Lair East Labs, Michelle has led cross-border expansions, including guiding a European startup’s U.S. entry that resulted in its acquisition by a NASDAQ-listed firm. Prior to her work in venture, she spent over nine years at Big Four accounting firms in both China and the U.S., including KPMG, PwC and EY. Her expertise spans manufacturing, construction, chemicals, consumer goods, real estate, and financial services, with a strong foundation in business strategy, operations management, and corporate finance.
