Ceramic surface design workshop
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Join artist Kiran Joan for a hands-on ceramic surface design workshop focused on storytelling through tile painting. Using bisqued ceramic tiles and underglazes, participants will experiment with layering, pattern, and surface techniques to create richly detailed compositions inspired by characters, memory and landscapes from India. Beginning with sketching exercises on paper, participants will develop imagery before transferring their ideas onto ceramic tile. Through demonstrations and guided instruction, Kiran will share her approach to building intricate surfaces and translating drawing-based practices into ceramic form. All materials provided. No prior experience necessary.
