Feminist Documentary Night
Feminist Documentary Night is a free monthly event we host in our home.
The children's television show Mr. Dressup quietly advanced feminist and progressive values through an inclusive creative partnership between Ernie Coombs and feminist puppeteer Judith Lawrence, who intentionally challenged traditional gender binaries, stereotypes, and social hierarchies.
Running from 1967 to 1996, generations of Canadian children were shaped by the show's values and gentle nature of the amazing Ernie Coombs, forever in our hearts as Mr. Dressup.
We're in the Dundas West Neighbourhood, (address upon registration) and the event is co-hosted by Business Coach Laura-Jean Bernhardson and RMT Becca Lemire.
This event is in our living room, with a small dog and cat on premises. Spots are limited!
7:00 - arrivals, social time
7:30 - movie starts
Rose will introduce her film and there will be discussion after each one.
Before and after, we have general social time!
You can bring snacks, wine, pop, or whatever you'd like to share. But there's also no need to bring anything.
We have herbal tea (hot and cold) available and there is usually a lot of snacks available with lots of leftovers.
It's about community, friendship and learning together more than anything. :)
