Building a Curriculum That Teaches Children to Think
What happens to a child’s thinking when a machine is always ready with the answer? In Session 1, we explored that question and introduced THINK First, with five practical moves that parents and teachers can use at home or in class.
Session 2 takes the conversation into the curriculum: the language we teach with, the questions we ask, and the way we shape lesson plans, class notes, homework and classroom conversations all influence how children learn to think.
Join me and a guest educator, Jennifer Okonkwo to explore the approaches to putting reasoning ahead of recall, and how technology and AI can support a child’s thinking rather than do the thinking for them. We’ll look at what this can mean at home, in classrooms and at policy level, with a shared goal: raising children who can reason, question, choose, build, take action and help shape a better society.
Educators, school leaders, policymakers, curriculum developers, parents, homeschoolers and AI builders are all welcome.
