About Event

Join us for Shui Tit Sing and Trans-Asia Art History, a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Kwok Kian Chow featuring art historians and scholars from Singapore and China. Part of the exhibition (Re)discovering Shui Tit Sing, the panel looks at Shui Tit Sing biographically and his art practices in different and some overlapping cultural contexts. Over different geographies, from the wartime relocation of the China Art Academy—where Shui studied alongside his classmate Zao Wou-ki and teacher Lin Fengmian—to Shui's eventual move to Singapore, where he became a citizen in 1957, and his travels throughout Southeast Asia, constituting an inroad into a trans-Asia art history.
