The Future Is a Story We Haven’t Finished Writing: How storytelling can steer us away from an AI dystopia
Co-hosted by Breakthrough and WilbeLABS, and hosted at IDEALondon, this evening brings founders, academics and social leaders together to explore how storytelling can steer us away from an AI dystopia.
The tech future we keep getting sold was a story first. The stories we tell about AI shape what we expect, what we fund and what actually gets built. But whose futures are being imagined, and who gets left out?
Together, we’ll explore:
Why the stories we tell about AI shape what actually gets built
Who goes missing from today’s AI future stories, and what that costs
How storytelling can help us imagine and work towards better alternatives
Your role as a founder, academic or social leader in speaking up for underserved communities
This is an evening to question the futures we’re being offered, consider whose voices are missing and explore how we can help write a better story.
No technical background or storytelling experience is required.
