Research on the Radar invites academic scholars from select universities to share their research, interventions, and insights with community; expanding access to knowledge beyond traditional scholarly settings.


Dr. Brianna A. Baker is a Counseling Psychologist and Implementation Science Postdoctoral Fellow at the CUNY Center for Innovation in Mental Health whose work centers on Black family systems, maternal mental health, and community-based interventions. She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and she completed her clinical residency at Yale School of Medicine. Her research integrates prevention science, mixed-methods, and public health approaches to address trauma, family violence, and health inequities. She is particularly known for developing frameworks such as the Black Mother-Daughter Developmental Model and advancing innovative, scalable interventions for Black women, girls, and families. Dr. Baker’s work spans academia, clinical practice, and community partnerships, with a focus on translating research into real-world impact.
