What if this "waste" could become a source of clean energy instead?
Join us for an exclusive tour of the Mahalakshmi Biogas Plant at Osmania University, where circular economy principles come alive through engineering and operations as 2,000 kg of daily food waste turns into biogas that powers the very kitchen that produces the food!
This biogas facility collects food waste from over 20 hostels, converts it into clean biogas for the hostel kitchen, and transforms the remaining bio-slurry into nutrient-rich organic fertilizer for the campus gardens - creating a closed-loop system.
Designed and operated by Ahuja Engineering Services, who will be leading the guided tour, the facility also serves as a Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Waste Management, offering hands-on learning and research opportunities for professionals and institutions.
This is a unique chance to understand the real-world opportunities & challenges of decentralized organic waste management.
