What you should know (food! fun! friends!)

About the event:

• October's monthly theme is DEMOCRACY and how it intersects with the climate crisis. The fourth Tuesday of the month is our REFLECT night

• This evening will start with a couple of fun voting exercises to showcase different voting systems, run by Jacob from FairVote WA. We'll be voting to make real decisions about Soapbox's future!!

• Then, we'll break into groups to play some games!

• Feel free to bring your ballots if you need some extra encouragement ✨

  • No experience required for any portion of this night!

More broadly:

• Soapbox Seattle is the city's most joyful community space for climate action. We gather EVERY TUESDAY same time same place (climate church?? lol)

• It's all ages

• Plant-based dinner is always included so you don't have to think about what to eat. We have our own lovely chef so the food is cooked with love from local and regenerative farmers

• No you do not have to be "a climate person" to come; you just need to be excited to meet people who share your values of caring about the earth/each other/wanting to breathe air etc. and no experience is required!

• There will be activities and programming! This is not one of those networking events where you pretend to be on your phone because you don't know what to do.

• All our events are sliding scale and if the litsed options don't work for you, you can request a reparative ticket here if you need one. It costs us ~$35 per person to put on so please contribute what you can

This space is hosted by Soapbox Project, a nonprofit that creates joyful community structures to heal our climate anxiety and loneliness through expertly facilitated connection, learning, and action activities. Find your place in the climate movement with our online and in-person community!
