New Mexico Technician Economy

​On November 17, a select group of companies, national labs, economic development leaders, community and technicial colleges, public leaders, funders, and other statewide stakeholders will come together for a working session focused on one question: How does New Mexico build the technician capacity required to turn its extraordinary scientific, industrial, energy, and national defense assets into operating capacity for organizations, and durable economic mobility for residents?

​This is not another conversation about whether a technician challenge exists. It is an opportunity to pressure test a statewide New Mexico Technician Economy™ plan, connect work already underway, identify the technician roles creating the greatest constraints, and determine where coordinated action is needed.

​The goal is to leave with a clearer statewide strategy, concrete actions and investment priorities, and a blueprint that can be advanced with the Governor’s office and incoming administration.
