The Methane We Don’t See

​What could a cow, a landfill and a Caribbean beach buried under seaweed possibly have in common?

​They can all produce methane.

​CO₂ dominates the climate conversation. But methane is the invisible troublemaker: pound for pound, it traps roughly 80 times more heat over a 20-year period, and it can emerge in places you would never expect.

​Josée Dancause is not a methane scientist. She is a climate entrepreneur whose work led her to an unexpected source: sargassum decomposing on tropical shores.

​Together, we will explore where methane hides, why preventing it matters now, and what becomes possible when we intervene before an emission is ever created.

​This will not be a traditional climate lecture. Expect surprising questions, audience participation and an open conversation about one of climate change’s most consequential gases.

​No scientific background required. Curiosity encouraged.

​Format: Short visual talk, interactive audience challenge and guided conversation.

​The session will be held in English. Questions and discussion are welcome in English or French.
