AI & Rehabilitation Webinar
The International Network for Criminal Justice, in partnership with the Probation Institute, is holding an international online webinar and related discussion events exploring the growing role of technology and artificial intelligence in rehabilitation across probation, prisons, and community justice settings in different jurisdictions.
The events will focus on how practitioners, researchers, and policymakers are responding to the opportunities and challenges presented by AI-enabled tools, digital services, and data-driven systems.
Particular attention will be given to maintaining a human-centred approach to rehabilitation, and to building confidence that technology can support inclusive practice while respecting ethnic diversity, gender, and neurodiversity.
A central aim is to demystify the subject and create space for informed, practice-grounded discussion rather than abstract or speculative debate.
Dr Victoria Knight, Associate Professor in Research for the Community and Criminal Justice Division in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University, has kindly agreed to chair the events and has commended the work of colleagues across the network to us.
Dr. Bianca C. Reisdorf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Bianca’s work focuses on the intersection of inequalities and digital media and the Internet, with a focus on digital inequalities among marginalized populations. In her recent research, Dr. Reisdorf has been focusing on internet access in correctional settings and how returning citizens navigate a technology-dependent world after release.
