Volunteer: Distribute Care Packages to Day Laborers

​On Wednesday, March 25th, Fordham Volunteers, Fordham VIVA, and Fordham's Puerto Rican Student Association will partner with Catholic Charities to distribute care packages to day laborers in our local community.

​Day laborers are skilled workers who contribute to our neighborhoods every day in areas like construction, landscaping, and other essential fields. While their skills directly support the community, many experience inconsistent employment and limited access to resources.

​Together, we will distribute care packages filled with daily essentials and resources for workforce development.

​Volunteers will participate in an act of solidarity and community support while also engaging with local workers to better understand community needs and opportunities connected to the Bronx Green Job Center.

​Insights and relationships built through this outreach will also help inform Fordham’s Bronx Green Job Center, strengthening efforts to develop community-centered, responsive entrepreneurship training and economic opportunities for local Bronxites.
