anima studies x Hijrah: Beauty & Violence
This Sunday November 1st, anima studies: Beauty & Violence
Presenting a philosophical discussion led by Hameem Khan. Hijrah is an educational initiative dedicated to preserving, cultivating, and sharing philosophical ideas across borders, languages & generations.
Beauty and violence are often understood as opposites, yet both captivate, disturb, and shape how we perceive the world.
In what ways are beauty and violence more similar than we tend to think? Does the aesthetic presentation of violence help us confront it, or make it easier to consume at a distance? What responsibility do we have toward the violence we witness, and is revolt a moral obligation?
Followed by a screening of Through the Olive Trees.
Tickets for only the screening are available through a PWYC structure.
