Ten Years of Spoken Word with Ade Tha Truth
In 2016, I performed my first spoken word poem in Juba. I had no idea what I was beginning.
Ten years, over 100 stages, countless poems, and a whole life lived in between.
Poetry has followed me through different versions of myself. Some poems came from things I understood; others came from things I was still trying to make sense of. I’ve watched the words change as I changed, and somehow, ten years later, I’m still writing and performing.
On 29 November 2026, I’m bringing some of that journey to the stage.
ADE IN A DEC-ADE is a celebration of ten years of spoken word, told through poetry, memory, and the stories that have stayed with me. Across three segments, we’ll revisit the work, the life behind it, and the things I’m still figuring out.
This is about taking a moment to recognise how far a thing can travel when you keep showing up for it.
