Debating the Infrastructures of the Future (THINK)
What does the future need most: better technology, stronger communities, bolder leadership or smarter policies? The future isn't built by consensus. It is shaped through conversation.
Created with ARDOR and Rethink Romania, Debating the Infrastructures of the Future reimagines the Oxford-style debate as a shared experience. Experts bring their perspectives, participants bring their own questions, opinions and arguments, and together they explore the ideas shaping tomorrow's world.
Rather than searching for one right answer, the format invites everyone in the room to think critically, challenge assumptions and engage in meaningful dialogue, revealing the complexity behind the decisions that will shape our collective future.
Theme: "In the context of limited public resources, Romania should prioritise investments in industry, transport infrastructure and security over investments in green infrastructure and the green transition over the next decade."
Two teams of three experts (geopolitics, technology, cities, environment, business, and governance/science) will argue for and against the motion. The audience, attending by invitation, will take an active part with questions and arguments.
Before the debate, each expert will have 5 minutes to convince the audience that their field is essential to the infrastructures of the future.
