​Most people have an idea they've never been able to act on — because they didn't have the tools, the skills, or the space.

​Makerspaces exist to remove all three of those barriers. They're shared workshops, open to the community, built on the belief that access to making should belong to everyone. When Chris first got involved with Fab Labs, he expected a room full of cool equipment — and as a self-described tech nerd, that was plenty exciting on its own. What he didn't expect was the community. In this session, he shares real stories from years inside these spaces that show how makerspaces do something far more powerful than just giving people tools.
