Skills Boost: Python Tools
This session is all about unlocking a more powerful — and more precise — way to build in Playlab. AI language models are great at reasoning and language, but they're probabilistic: they predict likely outputs, which makes them unreliable for exact math, data aggregation, and file generation. Python fixes that. In this session we'll demystify what Python Tools actually are, why they matter, and how to start using them in your Playlab apps to get results you can actually trust.
We'll explore how the MCP Python Tool works — where AI writes and executes real code in a secure sandbox and returns actual numbers, charts, and files rather than approximations. You'll see it in action, explore a curated collection of sample apps, and have time to build or remix your own.
Optional but helpful to bring:
An app idea that involves calculations, data, or file generation
Any frustration you've had with AI giving you inconsistent or inaccurate outputs — we'll show you how Python solves it
No coding experience required — just curiosity about what's possible.
Duration: 50 minutes
Intended Audience:
Educators and builders who are already comfortable in Playlab and want to go further
Those working with data, assessments, or any task that requires accurate, reproducible outputs
Anyone curious about what Python can do inside an AI app — no prior coding knowledge needed
