MYSTICAL MIND SCORPIO: Art & Astrology Workshop
Mystical Mind — Art & Astrology Workshop
Scorpio Edition
All astro signs welcome. No art experience required.
Each month, Mystical Mind invites you into a sensorial and creative journey through the energy of the astrological sign and ruling planets of the season. November draws us below the surface, into the murky waters of Scorpio and its rulers Mars and Pluto: the energy of depth, transformation, and all that lies hidden.
We gather two nights after the Scorpio new moon, under a dark sky, at the midpoint between fall and winter, when the veil thins and many traditions turn toward the spirit realm. Scorpio is a journey into the underworld, home to the unknown and to what we keep secret, the mysteries we hide from others and often from ourselves. Here, we learn to meet the shadow so that it becomes our source of power.
In homage to the Surrealists of the 1920s, our evening initiates you into the Scorpio descent through rites of passage disguised as parlor games. Each game is designed to slip past the rational mind and catch the subconscious off guard. What rises to the surface may be strange, uncanny, and delightfully bizarre.
How the evening unfolds:
Part 1: The Initiation. We begin by setting the rules of play and establishing the foundations of the Scorpio archetype before we journey beyond the conscious mind.
Part 2: The Threshold. Through automatism (rapid and uncensored writing and drawing), we loosen the grip of the thinking mind and warm up the subconscious.
Part 3: The Underworld. A twist on the Surrealists’ exquisite corpse and game of radical collaboration. We build artwork together in fragments and see what strangeness emerges.
Part 4: The Return. Through shared interpretation, we bring our collaborative works back to the surface and read them together like oracles.
Tea and light refreshments will be served.

The space:
Tattoo Therapy is a collaboration of tattoo artist, Kelly Gelling, and psychotherapist, Catherine Chinnock who saw an intersection in their work in supporting the process of transformation. In addition to their individual work as tattoo artist and psychotherapist, they work together with clients in a therapeutically informed ritual container designed to evoke and enhance the intention of the tattoo experience. Their collaboration also serves as the inspiration for collaborations with other healers, guides, and teachers to offer experiences rooted in creativity, ritual, and self-exploration.
