โ€‹AI is not the issue right now. The real issue is that our space to feel and think has disappeared. We spend our entire day searching for better AI tools, opening more screens, and getting faster answers. Yet, what we genuinely want and what problems we actually wish to solve are becoming increasingly blurred. The answers have grown faster, but we might be losing track of the questions we truly wanted to ask. OFF THE RECORD is a gathering to step away from screens for a moment and get our bodies and thoughts moving again. We pause notifications and note-taking to walk here and now. We shift our eyes from nearby screens to distant scenery, move our stiff bodies, and untangle thoughts together that couldn't be sorted out alone. Our very first TAKE begins not in a meeting room or a cafe, but at Inwangsan Mountain.

โ€‹Why meet on a mountain? In a conference room, job titles and roles come first. Sitting across a table naturally turns someone into a speaker and someone else into a listener. But on a mountain, everyone walks looking in the same direction. In a conversation walking side by side, there are neither presenters nor audiences. If you get out of breath, you can pause speaking; you can take time to think while taking in the view. When the body moves, the conversation moves, and questions you couldn't bring up in daily life emerge naturally. This hike is not about reaching the summit quickly. We prioritize direction over speed, and conversation over results. We rest our screen-fatigued eyes and regain perspective by looking out over Seoul's landscape. The process of people from diverse fields walking the same path and gradually connecting is the purpose of this TAKE.

โ€‹What will we talk about? There are no set presentation topics or right answers. We start with one question currently lingering in each personโ€™s mind. A new initiative you want to start, an unresolved dilemma, what becomes more essential for humans in the AI era, intersections where technology meets ESG, human rights, and wellnessโ€”or any matter on your mind regarding work and life lately. It is completely fine if you don't have polished conclusions. One person's question sparks another's thought, and that thought leads to a brand-new question. Rather than networking to collect stacks of business cards, we focus on meeting just one person you genuinely want to talk to again after the hike. A genuine curiosity about others' stories matters far more than preparing an impressive self-introduction.

โ€‹At this gathering, we: Do not open laptops. Do not hold presentations or lectures. Do not spend time pitching or delivering one-way self-introductions. We walk. We observe. We ask. We converse. And we move together, respecting each other's pace. We welcome anyone interested in AI, technology, ESG, human rights, wellness, and community, or anyone simply looking to step away from screens and exchange thoughts with new people.

โ€‹Leave your laptop behind. Just bring one unpolished thought. Turn off the record for a moment, and awaken your thoughts and senses.

โ€‹BLOOM Bloom is a community for AI early adopters. It started from the desire to shift from the anxiety (Blue) faced in the AI era toward blooming (Bloom) together. Since April, we have hosted over 30 events, connecting more than 7,200 participants through our meetups. While we have mainly created spaces to discuss tools and technology, we realized the necessity of meeting with screens turned off. This is why we are partnering with OFF THE RECORD. Updates on upcoming events are shared first on Discord.
