About Event

Hike with fellow students, researchers, builders, and other climate enthusiasts as we close out the 2nd annual Stanford Climate Week at the iconic Stanford Dish. The Dish is a 3.7 mile loop through the Stanford foothills, wrapped around a 150-foot radio telescope built in the early 1960s that once tracked the Voyager and Pioneer probes and bounced signals off the moon. Today the surrounding land doubles as a preserve for Stanford's ecology and conservation research, which makes it a fitting last stop for a week spent on the future of climate and energy.

Expect rolling hills, wide views across the Bay, and lots of energetic (pun intended!) conversation. Come to exchange notes on what you're working on, meet someone new, or simply enjoy the views. Everyone who took part in Climate Week is welcome, as is the broader Bay Area community.

Please bring a water bottle and shoes you can walk a few miles in.

Meet us at the Stanford Avenue gate, at the end of Stanford Ave where it meets Junipero Serra Blvd, at 9:30am on Sunday, Oct. 25th. Questions? Contact the organizers, Samuel Enrique Camacho, Daniel Ramirez Cortes, or Carolyn He, at (346) 216-7278.
