With over 120 universities and the world’s leading science superpower by research excellence per-capita, the UK represents one of the world’s greater locations for investment in innovation and R&D. The UK has an extraordinary wealth of innovation investment opportunities – but most global investors only get to hear about those in London, Oxford and Cambridge.
There is exceptional value to be had for Venture Capital investors in going off the beaten-track and discovering the thriving spin-out eco-systems outside of these hot-spots. Together, nearly 20 universities from the Midlands, UK (a region with and economy the size of Denmark) including the Universities of Birmingham, Nottingham and Warwick have teamed-up to create a single Campaign to promote inward investment into university R&D and the opportunity to invest in a new £250m Patient Capital Vehicle, Midlands Mindforge.
At the UK Universities, innovation and investment: Venture Capital Reception visiting venture capital delegates will have the opportunity to meet and network with some of UK’s most outstanding spin-out companies from the Midlands and other regions of the UK who will be showcasing at the event, meet leading academics and engage with local investment agencies who can support companies with establishing themselves in the UK – including national and local R&D investment incentives.
